Due to the H1N1 influenza pandemic and upcoming flu season and requests from client facilities, Trustaff is offering Rapid Response, a preparation plan in the case of mass absenteeism as a result of illness. These customizable plans for our client facilities will provide prescreened and qualified nurses and allied health professionals within 24 to 48 hours of notice, adjustable contract lengths, and our 24 hour a day support.

The CDC has posted guidelines and recommendations for the 2009 – 2010 influenza season: “One of the best ways to reduce the spread of influenza is to keep sick people away from well people. However, in the fall and winter, it will not be possible to quickly determine if workers who are ill have 2009 H1N1, seasonal influenza, or any number of other different conditions based on symptoms alone.

Workers who have symptoms of influenza-like illness are recommended to stay home and not come to work until at least 24 hours after their fever has resolved. Regardless of the size of the business or the function or services that you provide, all employers should plan now to allow and encourage sick workers to stay home without fear of losing their jobs. CDC recommends this strategy for all levels of severity.” (www.cdc.gov)

Keep yourself and others healthy this season by observing some good practices. Washing hands and hand sanitizers are a good idea to avoid spreading germs, and if you have to sneeze or cough, remember to bend your arm and cough into your elbow instead of your hands. Staying home when you have a fever may not be fun, but it can prevent others from becoming sick with the flu, so be sure to take sick days when necessary.

Stay healthy during this cold and flu season, and check back here for more from your favorite staffing firm, Trustaff!
